Initiative encourages Surf Life Saving Clubs to be water wise
As part of the ‘Water for the Future’ Plan, the Australian government is providing grants to Surf Life Saving Clubs of up to $10,000 to install water-saving and water-efficient devices. The grants can be claimed for the installation of new rainwater tanks connected to club premises, including the installation of pumps for the new tank.
Following on from this announcement, Grundfos Pumps Australia has recently sent a rain gauge and informative flyer to Surf Life Saving Clubs around Australia, encouraging them to consider Grundfos pumps to meet their mains and rainwater needs.
To help the clubs further communicate the water conservation message, especially to their nippers, Grundfos is also offering a bonus for all purchases of Grundfos product over $1000 (ex GST). By sending in a copy of the receipt , Surf Life Saving Clubs can redeem a $500 voucher (redeemable for Grundfos product) to be used at their next fundraising event and a fun ‘nipper pack’ for each of the club's nippers.
“By encouraging Surf Life Saving Clubs to undertake water-saving, water-harvesting and water-recycling initiatives, we hope to not only see a reduction in potable water usage in the short term, but also pass on a positive, sustainable message to the clubs' nippers and young members,” Marketing Manager Tiffany Bermingham said.
“We hope that the offer of a $500 voucher, to be used for fundraising, will be an additional incentive to get clubs into Authorised Grundfos Dealers to talk about how they can best implement their water conservation requirements."
