High-integrity carbon scale to be discussed at Climate Action Week
Leaders across engineered and nature-based carbon removal will come together on 9 March as part of Climate Action Week Sydney for a moderated discussion examining what high-integrity scale looks like in practice.
Hosted at Canva Space, the ‘Fighting Climate with the Elements’ event will bring together expertise across three core domains shaping Australia’s carbon landscape:
- Fire: Savanna fire management and Indigenous-led methodologies designed to reduce emissions and enhance landscape resilience.
- Air: Direct air capture technologies removing carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere.
- Earth: Soil carbon, environmental plantings and nature repair initiatives delivering long-term sequestration outcomes.
Speakers at the event will include:
- Mahesh Venkataraman, CTO, AspiraDAC
- Julien Gastaldi, CEO, Maki Planet Systems
- Matthew Warnken, Founder, AgriProve
- Marc Train, CEO, Corporate Carbon Group (Moderator)
The discussion will explore:
- what high integrity means across different carbon methodologies;
- the convergence of engineered and nature-based removal approaches;
- the realities of scaling durable climate impact;
- the role of commercial structures, including offtake agreements, in enabling growth;
- how Australia can position itself as a credible global contributor in carbon innovation.
The event will focus on how we can meet rising expectations for permanence, transparency and measurable impact.
The ‘Fighting Climate with the Elements: Fire. Air. Earth. Scaling Australia’s carbon solutions’ event will be held on Monday, 9 March from 5:30–7:30 pm at the Canva Space in Surry Hills.
