Hassett Park takes home 202020 Vision Green Design Award
A new urban park in the ACT, Hassett Park, was awarded the 202020 Vision Green Design Award at the Good Design Awards, held last week in Sydney. The award recognises and celebrates the importance of green and living infrastructure design for our built environments.
Hassett Park was designed in the public domain framework for Campbell 5, part of an upscale redevelopment along Constitution Avenue of key inner city sites. The grassy oasis was designed by Jane Irwin Landscape Architecture and Hill Thalis > Architecture + Urban Projects.
The park was judged on criteria including contribution to more and better green space, greater appreciation for plants and trees in the design and development stage of projects, biophilia, air purification, water-sensitive urban design, product design and development that progresses green and living infrastructure increases and improvements.

“Hassett Park embodies the mission of 202020 Vision, which focuses on not only increasing urban green spaces but increasing quality green spaces,” said 202020 Vision advocate John Lloyd.
“This public area is now a park that connects and engages the local community through the imaginative use of space and greenery. It encompasses water-sensitive urban design, bike paths, play spaces, native trees and is a poster child for outstanding green design.”
