GRI launches podcast on waste
A new podcast series has been launched by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), a non-profit organisation that has pioneered sustainability reporting. The podcasts will inform listeners of the work GRI is doing to help businesses and governments understand and communicate their impact on critical sustainability issues such as climate change, human rights, governance and social wellbeing.
The On Waste episode explores how businesses can help address the globe’s unsustainable consumption of resources and become more efficient in the process; by reporting on their waste management.
The GRI Waste Standard is currently being updated to ensure it aligns with international best practice and reflects new developments in waste management and reporting. The premise is to design waste out by reducing the amount of waste that’s generated in the production process.
In this episode, Colombia-based environmental consultant Daniel Gómez, a member of the working group responsible for drafting the new waste standard, shares his insights on waste management.
