Environmentally friendly wine on tap
TAP. Wine has announced a fresh approach to ‘wine by the glass’ service, preserving varietals in stainless steel wine cylinders before pouring wine from custom-designed towers.
The company was founded by wine connoisseur Andrew De Angelis, who wanted to develop a new way to enjoy wine by the glass. The company’s philosophy is simple: deliver premium wine that’s authentic, consistent, cost-effective and environmentally friendly.
TAP. sources its wine from international wine-growing regions, including Tuscany and Veneto, with no risk of spoilage or cork taint. The stainless steel cylinders protect the wine from oxidisation and UV strike, prolonging its life while preserving its original character and complexity.
With every cylinder storing 20 L of wine — the equivalent to 26 bottles — TAP. saves on waste and landfill by reducing the number of traditional glass bottles, corks and caps for disposal, as well as eliminating the need to manufacture and package bottles. Furthermore, the 30-year lifespan of each re-usable cylinder ensures the process is environmentally friendly.
TAP.’s cylinders and ceramic towers are currently pouring rosé, pinot grigio and sangiovese. They can be found in popular Melbourne restaurants including Essendon’s 400 Gradi, Brunetti in Carlton, Ladro, Mister Bianco and A25 Pizzeria.
