Entries open for Victorian Premier's Sustainability Awards 2015
Victorians who have demonstrated leadership in environmental sustainability are encouraged to share their work in the Premier’s Sustainability Awards, which are now open for entries for 2015.
Now in their 13th year, the awards encourage the adoption of leadership and innovation in sustainability by all Victorians. Award entries are open for governments, businesses, organisations, community groups or individuals who have participated in the care of the environment and inspired leadership in this area.
“Each year we see such a high calibre of talent from people who are truly passionate about the environment and being innovative in sustainable practices, including developing new products and services,” said Sustainability Victoria CEO Stan Krpan.
There are 10 categories in this year’s awards program:
- Built Environment Award
- Community Award
- Education Award
- Environmental Justice Award (new in 2015)
- Environmental Protection Award
- Government Award
- Health Award (new in 2015)
- Innovative Products or Services Award
- Large Business Award
- Small and Medium Enterprises Award
In addition to these awards, the Premier will personally select two overall winners for the Premier’s Regional Recognition Award and the Premier’s Recognition Award.
“Last year, the Premier’s Sustainability Awards received the highest number of entries since the awards’ inception,” Krpan said. “We look forward to this year’s entries matching and even exceeding those numbers.”
Entries opened on 27 April and will close on 13 July at 5 pm AEST. There will also be two information sessions, held on 22 May and 17 June, offering tips on category eligibility and how to write a compelling entry.
