Engineers Australia - Newcastle Division's 2013 Young Professional Engineer of the Year Award
RPC Technologies has congratulated Manager of Engineering (Broadmeadow Office) Pierre Gouhier, who last week received the Engineers Australia - Newcastle Division 2013 Young Professional Engineer of the Year Award.

Gouhier holds a Master of Engineering degree, majoring in Composite Materials, from Polytech Savoie (France) and is currently studying for a Master of Engineering Management at the University of Newcastle. As a Composite Engineer at RPC Technologies, he has extensive experience in transport, defence, manufacturing and fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP). He has worked at various technical levels on major Australian projects, from modelling/drafting of concept to validation of design using pipe stress analysis and finite element analysis (FEA).
“I never thought, arriving from France on a very hot morning in January 2006, I would receive such an award a few years later,” said Gouhier.
“I thank RPC Technologies, who gave me the opportunities and challenges which allowed me to be nominated for such an award; and I extend my thanks to my work colleagues, as their support and advice is invaluable; and, of course, to my wife Kate, who allows me to spend long hours at the office and is so supportive of what I do.”
Tony Caristo, RPC’s managing director, said he is very proud of Gouhier and noted that this is the second occasion one of the company’s engineers has won such a prestigious award.
As a winner at the division level, Gouhier will go on to complete at the national level at the National Engineering Excellence Awards in November.
