Energy Action identifies savings for Victorian businesses
Energy consultancy firm Energy Action has completed the annual Network Tariff Review for its Victorian Gold & Silver Clients and identified $1,769,177 in potential savings across 198 sites. The company found that in many cases, businesses have been placed on an incorrect tariff by the electricity network provider.
Energy Action CEO Scott Wooldridge explained, “We review tariffs annually in each state on behalf of our Gold & Silver Clients to determine which network tariff they have been placed on by the network provider.” As a result of identifying clients who have not been placed on the correct tariff, the company has found “millions of dollars in potential savings for our clients nationally”.
The review, conducted by Energy Action on over 1000 sites, identified that the average electricity network tariff increase was 11.6% across Victoria, ranging from 8.85% to 15.47% on average per network. The highest dollar value was $286,672 for a single site.
“We advise our clients of the outcomes of the network tariff review for their sites and urge them to act so we can turn the potential savings into real credits against their electricity costs,” Wooldridge said. “This can be a big help for any business and provide tangible financial benefits.”
The next tariff review is due in July 2015 for NSW, Queensland, South Australia, the ACT and Tasmania.
