Carbon Risk Management Program announced
Deputy Premier and Minister for Climate Change and the Environment, Carmel Tebbutt has announced the NSW government is partnering the University of NSW on a program to teach business leaders to capitalise on Australia’s new low carbon economy.
The two-day program will be offered by the university’s Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) Executive Programs as part of its School of Business.
The NSW government has provided $40,000 towards program development, and will provide in-kind support.
“Climate change is one of the biggest issues facing not only Australia, but also the rest of the world,” Tebbutt said.
“As we move to tackle climate change and transition to a low carbon economy, we want to make sure NSW businesses are in the best position to take advantage of the opportunities that are created.
“This program aims to educate senior managers in both the private and public sectors to become ready for a carbon constrained future."
Dr Michael Molitor, Program Director for the AGSM Executive Programs, welcomed the support of the government and encouraged business leaders to attend the program.
The program will be held in Sydney on 22–23 September and 19–20 November 2009.
