Call for agricultural greenhouse gas research
New Zealand’s Ministry for Primary Industries has committed $1.6 million to a multipartner call for agricultural greenhouse gas research through the Joint Programming Initiative on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change (FACCE-JPI).
The FACCE-JPI is an intergovernmental initiative of 21 European member states and associated countries who are committed to addressing the global challenges of agriculture, food security and climate change.
The challenge of growing more food (and more climate-resilient food systems) without growing greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture requires a global strategic approach and cooperation between international research programs. The research call brings together research consortia to enhance international collaboration in the face of the global issue of climate change mitigation across 11 countries of FACCE-JPI as well as Canada, New Zealand and the United States.
The application process in New Zealand consists of two steps:
- The nominated project coordinator has to electronically submit the letter of intent (LoI) using the online JPI submission tool. The deadline for LoI submission is 27 March 2013, 15:00 Central European Summer Time (CEST).
- Successful LoIs will be invited to submit a more detailed full proposal. The deadline for full proposal submission is 3 September 2013, 15:00 CEST.
Submissions are to be made through the FACCE-JPI research call dedicated website at https://www.submission-faccejpi.com.
