A Tram Tracker and free bikes at Riverside residential development
With residents of inner-city Melbourne relying more on public transport, bikes and car sharing over owning their own vehicles, developer Riverside Group has introduced ‘Tram Tracker’ information to the ground floor lobbies of stage two and three of its Jaques residential development in Richmond.
In what is claimed by the company to be a Victorian first, LCD screens will display live tram information for the Coppin Street and Bridge Road tram stop — located 100 m away from Jaques — 24 hours a day. This will provide real-time updates to residents, allowing them to plan their trip accordingly.
“Statistics show that 30% of Richmond residents use public transport and that it is the second most popular way to get to work after driving,” said Kristine Lee, Riverside Group’s sales and marketing director. “The integration of Tram Tracker should make the morning tram commute even easier for our residents.”
In addition to the screens, Riverside Group will also be providing a free bicycle with every apartment, as well as two car share bays on Griffiths Street and a bike share station on Dyer Lane. All apartments in the second and third stages of Jacques will feature a minimum of one bike space each.
“Melbourne is fast becoming a bike city — and for good reason,” said Lee. “Providing all apartments with a complimentary bicycle will enhance their health and wellbeing and reduce their carbon footprint.”
