BuildingIQ has released version 4.0 of its software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution to optimise energy use in commercial buildings. The latest version builds on the company’s Predictive Energy Optimization software and is said to offer streamlined analytics, increased visibility into savings and improved managed services. BuildingIQ is claimed to save users 10 to 25% in HVAC energy costs with increased scores in LEED, Energy Star, NABERS and other sustainability measures.

The software features an intuitive interface and offers real-time transparency into energy operations. Using variables such as weather forecasts, utility signals, building characteristics and occupant comfort, it makes real-time changes to building controls based on a customised thermal model. The platform displays predictive and retrospective data and allows users to easily view adjustments that were made to the operating system. Results can be accessed in a consolidated, standardised view regardless of which legacy systems are in a building.

The company has also enhanced its managed services offering to provide more support to building owners. Users are provided around-the-clock access to BuildingIQ’s building engineering experts, who continuously observe and trend building performance to determine if other opportunities to save energy are available. Additionally, they can identify energy drains for a structure.

The cloud-based software incorporates security features to protect users’ building management systems (BMS) and IT systems. The company has also made it easy to automatically update the software to keep up with the latest challenges.
