Chamaeleon is a multifunction LED light that is claimed to save up to 93% on energy costs. It has been trialled by a number of organisations wanting to reduce their energy costs and carbon footprint.
Designed in Sydney, the light provides a range of low-energy solutions for fire stairs, car parks and back-of-house areas where energy is typically wasted due to lights being left on continuously. It is fitted with microwave (motion) and PE (light) sensors to ensure that permanent low-energy background lighting is available at all times and full lighting is provided when a space is occupied.
The retrofit installations have claimed to have reduced CO2 production by 237,000 kg and the current savings are 1470 kg of CO2 per day.
