Sustainable food packaging films launched

Tuesday, 17 May, 2011

Wipak has released a range of sustainable food packaging films using Cardia Biohybrid technology.

“In view of rising costs for raw material and energy, affecting retail, manufacturers and suppliers, efficient and sustainable packaging systems that are ideally adapted to the products are gaining more and more importance,” emphasised Rafael Kraft, European Sales and Marketing Director.

Cardia Biohybrid technology combines renewable thermoplastics with polyolefin material to reduce dependence on finite oil resources and to reduce carbon footprint. Cardia Managing Director Dr Frank Glatz said: “Our partnership with Wipak Group will enable their food packaging and medical packaging customers to purchase innovative film products with reduced dependence on finite oil resources and lower carbon footprint.”
