Dwyer Instruments Series V4 Flotect flow switch

Rugged and reliable, the Series V4 Flotect flow switch operates automatically to protect pumps, motors and other equipment against damage from reduction or loss of flow. It controls the sequential operation of pumps and controls dampers according to flow.

The unit automatically starts the auxiliary pumps and engines, and stops liquid-cooled engines, machines and processing when coolant flow is interrupted. It also shuts down the burner when air flow through the heating coil fails.

The product has been installed in thousands of pipelines and processing plants around the world. A magnetically actuated switching design provides high performance. There are no bellows, springs or seals to fail. Instead, a free-swinging vane attracts a magnet within the solid metal switch body, actuating a snap switch by means of a simple lever arm.

The device is weatherproof (designed to meet IP65), explosion-proof (SAA and ATEX) and has a leak-proof body machined from bar stock. It installs directly and easily into the pipeline with a thredolet, tee or flange, and the electrical assembly can be easily replaced without removing the unit from installation.

The switch can be used in pipes 1-1/2″ and up. It features a choice of custom vane calibrated for the user’s application, along with a high-pressure rating of 69 bar with the brass body and 138 bar with the 316 SS body.
