Low Carbon Australia Board appointments

Tuesday, 14 June, 2011

The federal government has appointed Tanya Cox and Linda Nicholls to the newly expanded Board of Low Carbon Australia Limited.

Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency Mark Dreyfus said, “Tanya Cox has extensive experience in the Australian property market. Her senior managerial experience will add to and complement the Board.

“Linda Nicholls’ extensive business experience will be of value to Low Carbon Australia as it continues to expand its business partnerships. Her strong background in finance will benefit the organisation as it brings finance and energy efficiency together for Australian business,” Dreyfus said.

The appointment of Cox and Nicholls to the Board of Low Carbon Australia is said to demonstrate the government’s commitment to diversity and increased representation of women on boards in Australian business.

Low Carbon Australia was established to work with business to understand and overcome the barriers that businesses face when seeking to improve energy efficiency and reduce their emissions, and to help business and consumers to identify goods and services which are carbon neutral.

Low Carbon Australia was formerly known as The Australian Carbon Trust. It changed its name in April 2011 to Low Carbon Australia.
