Mean Well RS-100 enclosed power supplies

Wednesday, 16 July, 2014 | Supplied by: ADM Instrument Engineering Group

Mean Well has switched from using nickel-plated steel in its RS-100 enclosed power supplies to hot-dipped galvanised steel instead. This means the risk of environmental pollution that could be caused by the plating process has been eliminated.

Moving to hot dipped galvanised steel provides an additional advantage - during salt-mist testing, it was apparently found that hot dipped galvanised steel has a better resistance to corrosion than nickel-plated steel.
