Todae Solar has announced the completion of two of Australia’s largest rooftop solar systems, totalling 175 kW, on two clubs in NSW. A 99 kW system was installed on the roof of the Euston Club & Resort, while the Rules Club Wagga Wagga installed a 76 kW system.

The 175 kW grid-connect solar power system was commissioned as part of the Solar in Clubs program through Clubs’ Sustainable Futures and Solar Choice, servicing the NSW club industry. The two systems will have a combined expected output of 245,174 kWh per year, saving the clubs approximately $50,000 annually.

The systems are expected to not only generate significant energy savings for the clubs but also have a large impact on the carbon footprint of the businesses. Carbon emissions will be cut by approximately 305 tonnes of CO2 annually - the equivalent of taking 116 cars off the road each year.

The two installations add to the company’s already completed 95 kW system installed on Club Sapphire, Merimbula.

99 kW system - Euston Club & Resort

Todae Solar designed and engineered a high-quality solar system for Euston Club & Resort, despite the complex roof structure. The company designed a multi-roof solution taking into consideration performance, design consistency, ease of maintenance, building integration and aesthetics.

The system comprises 396 Suntech 250 W modules with six SMA Tripower inverters and has an expected output of 140,202 kWh per year - enough to power approximately 20 homes.

“Part of Euston Club and Resorts’ responsibility as a leader in our community is to make sure we’re reducing our environmental impact and raising environmental awareness,” said Ray Jones, CEO of Euston Club & Resort. “Our decision to install solar on our rooftop served as a way to further exemplify our leadership. We have already seen several additional benefits on top of energy savings.

“We selected Todae Solar as our preferred supplier based on the entire package they provided us - not only the vast expertise within the industry but a viable financial package as well. Todae Solar managed the entire project, which allowed us to focus on running the club with few distractions.”

75.75 kW system - Rules Club Wagga Wagga

After consultation with the Rules Club, Todae Solar designed an end-to-end solar installation. With numerous external structures on the roof, the company engineered a system that not only considered shading but also adhered to the aesthetics of both the structure and landscape.

The system comprises 303 Canadian Solar 250 W modules with four SMA Tripower inverters and is able to produce 104,972 kWh per year - enough to power approximately 15 homes.

Jack Jolley, General Manager of the Rules Club, said that Todae Solar managed the entire process, from proposal to installation, professionally.

“We look forward to an ongoing relationship with them and to seeing the year-on-year benefits of the system. As with any construction work, there were invariably obstacles, but Todae Solar was extremely efficient in overcoming and resolving any issues we encountered,” he said.

“We see our commitment to our environmental goals inspiring other businesses and residents within our community to follow our lead in environmental stewardship. We are extremely pleased with solar and are already achieving significant savings on our energy costs.”

Todae Solar CEO Danin Kahn said the company was “proud to be selected by the clubs to install solar on their premises. We congratulate the clubs on their initiative to significantly reduce their environmental footprints and act as a leader in their communities.

“We are proud to have helped three clubs within the Clubs’ Sustainable Futures Program install a total of 270 kW of solar, which equates to taking 178 cars off NSW roads every single year.”
