Remote site monitor

Friday, 23 November, 2007 | Supplied by: Acutec Systems Ltd

The Acutec Messenger is a universal event-driven satellite communication system that transmits alarm notifications and a limited amount of data from remote sites.

Each notification that is transmitted contains the site description, the alarm identification and the current values of analog instruments. The unit has four analog inputs and four discrete, event-driven alarms (normally-open, normally-closed).

Notifications are transmitted directly to text message addresses, email addresses and telephone answering services. Remote site information is also hosted on Acutec's website www.acutec-ltd.com. Users are able to log in to view and export instrument values from their sites.

Applications include monitoring tank levels, flowmeters, data loggers as well as cathodic rectifiers on pipelines.

A real-time clock allows users to program remote site readings at scheduled intervals. Low-cost Simplex messaging keeps data costs at a minimum.
