UWA launches REV fast-charging station
The UWA Renewable Energy Vehicle (REV) Project, led by engineering staff and students from The University of Western Australia, has launched Australia’s first commercial, combined charging standard, fast-charging station.
The station was has been installed at the UWA campus at car park no. 3, next to the University Club. The launch was attended last week by WA Minister for Finance; Mines and Petroleum the Hon Bill Marmion, Member for Balcatta Chris Hatton MLA and UWA Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Johnson.
The Combo-Carger station is said to be approximately seven times faster than REV’s public charging stations in the Perth metro area and about 25 times faster than home charging. It is open for use by the general public, with no fees for power usage or parking.
