Suez Environment, through SITA UK, has acquired Easco Ltd, a specialised metal recycling company.

Rapidly rising prices of raw materials and increasingly stringent environment regulations are creating major business opportunities in the European waste recycling market.

With Easco's main business involving the collection, recycling and processing of metals including trading of ferrous and non ferrous metals, the acquisition enables SITA UK to develop its capabilities in the metal recycling market.

SITA will also continue to expand its services in Australia with recent acquisitions in the secure paper destruction and organic waste markets, in addition to its recent Penrith and Liverpool Council wins and SITA-CEC waste management contracts in far north Queensland and regional NSW.
