Water China 2009/PVP China 2009

The trade fair comprises the 10th International Water, Wastewater & Water Treatment Trade Show (Water China 2009) and the 9th International Pump, Valve & Pipe Trade Show (PVP China 2009).

386 exhibitors, including 91 international participants from 17 countries and 8590 trade visitors, joined the event in 2008.

The scope of the exhibits includes: water treatment equipment; industrial water treatment; drinking water treatment and equipment; pumps and valves; instruments, controls and automation; water pipes and drains; sewer inspection, cleaning and maintenance; consultation and engineering services.

OzWater 09

Ozwater ’09 will be attended by thousands of water professionals from Australia and overseas.

There were more than 500 abstracts submitted for consideration for inclusion in the conference program. There will be nine parallel streams over the three-day conference, five workshops and extensive networking opportunities.

AWA is introducing electronic posters as an alternative to standard paper posters. More than 200 posters will be presented in this new format. Electronic posters are webpage documents produced by the authors before the conference. The posters include text, figures and images, just as in traditional paper posters.

The technical program will address four main themes:

  • Integrated water management;
  • Water and wastewater systems and processes;
  • Policy and strategy;
  • Emerging and innovative technologies and research.

Greenhouse 2009

Greenhouse 2009: Climate Change and Resources will draw together national and international climate experts to discuss climate impacts, mitigation and adaptation strategies for industry, government and households.

It will be an opportunity to review the latest climate change science and projections and will co-host the World Climate Research Program workshop on El Niño and climate change.

There will be high-profile national and international plenary addresses, parallel sessions, poster presentations, a trade exhibition and social events. The conference program maximises the time for information sharing and networking.

The conference will also cover international issues, policy development, communication and education.

Australian Water Summit

The Australian Water Summit boasts senior-level speakers from across the country. The event, which consists of a plenary first day, a streamed second day and an optional third day focusing on climate change, has consistently attracted over 250 industry leaders. The international guest speaker this year is Maude Barlow, who has recently been appointed Senior Advisor on Water to the United Nations.
Other speakers include Hon Karlene Maywald, Hon Greg Hunt, Ken Matthews, Richard Leupen, John Bradley, Michael Bullen and Stewart Ellis.

EcoForum Conference & Exhibition 2009

The EcoForum Conference & Exhibition is an Australian ecoforum that provides an opportunity for participants to engage with leaders in the management of air quality, climate change, human health, energy, land remediation, water and waste. It brings Australian environment industry practitioners together with their clients in a range of industry sectors to help them solve environmental problems. It is a multi-disciplinary, practical and interactive event that provides solutions and real business leads for participants.

EcoForum in 2009 will be a three-day industry function comprising: 12 conference streams; an exhibition of 40 exhibitors; 500 delegates; 600 trade visitors; an art exhibition on resource recovery; breakfast keynote plenaries each day; networking functions including a happy hour each day; the EcoForum dinner for delegates, exhibitors and guests.

The 10th International Congress of Ecology

The Officers and Board of INTECOL are delighted to announce that the 10th International Congress of Ecology will be held in Brisbane, Australia, 16-21 August 2009. The Congress will be hosted by the Ecological Society of Australia in partnership with the New Zealand Ecological Society. This is the first time that an International Congress of Ecology will have been held in the southern Hemisphere.
